Credit Risk Expert

Your role’s purpose is to lead and provide advanced analytical and strategic guidance in the field of credit risk, ensuring that business decisions are backed by deep risk insights and robust methodologies.
As a Credit Risk Expert, you will act as a partner and advisor to both the Credit Risk function and other key IPF Digital functions (sales, marketing, finance, collections). You will take ownership of complex risk analyses, influence strategic initiatives across the business, and ensure that credit risk frameworks are robust, innovative, and aligned with company growth ambitions.
You will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, challenge assumptions where necessary, and drive best practices in credit risk management. This business will be market-leading, ambitious and hungry for innovation — and you will help set the pace.
This role will be based in Warsaw as part of the IPF Digital Credit Risk team, providing expert-level reporting, credit risk services, and thought leadership across all IPF Digital markets.
Your daily tasks:
- Leading and overseeing complex credit risk analyses, transforming data into actionable strategic recommendations.
- Owning and presenting in-depth reports and insights to senior management, with a focus on influencing high-impact business decisions.
- Designing and improving credit risk frameworks, methodologies for forecasting, and stress-testing credit exposure at portfolio and product level.
- Acting in reviewing and optimising processes and policies to protect the organisation from unexpected credit risk losses.
- Proactively identifying market trends, emerging risks, and opportunities — recommending and implementing innovative strategies to support sustainable customer growth.
- Ensuring governance standards are met, challenging credit and arrears management controls when necessary, and driving data-driven policy changes.
- Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to align risk strategies across functions and geographies.
- Mentoring and guiding more junior analysts, sharing expertise, and raising the overall analytical capability within the team.
So, what skills, knowledge and experience do you have?
- Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or another finance-related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ proven experience in credit risk management, ideally in consumer finance or similar regulated industry.
- Track record of independently delivering high-impact credit risk projects from concept to implementation.
- Understanding of credit risk analysis techniques, modelling, and portfolio management.
- Advanced technical expertise in SQL, DWH usage, and analytical tools.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly in English, both written and spoken.
