The role
The Procurement Lead -México takes full ownership of procurement activity for IPFD within the Mexican market. As the fastest-growing market in the Group, with over 100,000 customers and third-party spend exceeding €14 million, this role is critical to embedding cost control, compliance, and commercial value locally. The position will lead category strategy execution, sourcing activities, supplier relationship management, and procurement governance, while aligning with group-wide frameworks and goals.
The responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
- Develop and implement local procurement strategies across high -value categories including Marketing, Customer Care, Credit & Risk, Collections, Financial Services, HR, Administration and Benefits.
- Act as a category expert by staying current with local market trends, regulatory updates, and supplier innovations.
- Coordinate closely with IPFD group procurement to localize and implement global category plans in line with regional business needs.
- Take ownership of end-to-end sourcing processes from demand validation through to contract signature. → Emphasizes the scope, scale, and autonomy in managing high-impact categories.
Procurement Operations & P2P Compliance
- Lead and execute sourcing projects according to IPFD procurement methodology, ensuring quality documentation, audit readiness, and timely delivery.
- Assure compliance with the full Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle, including timely PO creation, proper supplier selection, invoice approvals, and system governance.
- Identify process gaps and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and accountability in local procurement workflows.
Business Partnering & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Marketing, and Operational teams.
- Work proactively with local and group-level functions to shape scopes of work, align budgets, and embed cost challenge and value thinking early in the planning cycle.
- Actively represent Procurement in cross-functional forums and contribute to commercial alignment on supplier-related decisions.
Supplier Relationship & Performance Management
- Manage commercial and contractual relationships with local and regional suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance, ensure service levels are achieved, and oversee resolution of delivery or quality issues.
- Lead business reviews with critical vendors and negotiate corrective actions where necessary.
Risk Management & Governance
- Execute supplier risk assessments and maintain documentation in line with internal controls and Group policy.
- Ensure all procurement activity complies with internal control frameworks, anti-fraud standards, and local regulations.
- Serve as first-line escalation for supplier governance and contract issues in the region.
Reporting & Forecasting
- Provide regular reporting on procurement performance including savings, compliance, category coverage, and supplier KPIs.
- Support rolling forecast submissions and budgeting cycles by forecasting procurement-driven cost reductions and risk exposures.
- Liaise with IPFD Group Procurement on reporting consistency, data quality, and alignment with corporate KPIs.
- Perform other tasks delegated by Global Head of Procurement as required to meet the business need.

Skills
- Expertise in strategic sourcing, stakeholder engagement, and supplier negotiations.
- Strong command of procurement and P2P tools; confident user of Microsoft Excel Power
- Ability to translate business needs into actionable procurement strategies and scopes.
- Skilled in interpreting and drafting contract terms, with experience managing supplier SLAs and KPIs.
Knowledge & Experience
- Advanced understanding of procurement principles, supplier lifecycle management, and category strategy development.
- Solid knowledge of indirect procurement categories including marketing, professional services, technology, and customer care.
- Familiarity with compliance and risk frameworks in procurement environments, especially in regulated or multinational businesses.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on procurement experience in an international or high-growth environment.
- Proven success in leading sourcing initiatives and delivering measurable cost savings.
- Track record of building relationships with both internal stakeholders and external vendors across functions and geographies.
- Experience working independently while maintaining alignment with central/global teams.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- High degree of self-motivation and accountability; comfortable working in a hybrid or partially remote structure.
- Resilient, adaptable, and solution-oriented with a commercial mindset.
- Educated to degree level in business, supply chain, finance, economics, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) are an asset.
