About us & the role
We are looking for a Cloud Data Engineer to play a key role in transforming IPF plc data infrastructure, migrating from SQL Server to Snowflake on AWS Cloud. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining secure and scalable data pipelines using medallion architecture to ensure seamless data flow and accessibility across the organization.
This role is critical in executing our global data strategy, optimizing system performance, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
A central aspect of this role is implementing medallion architecture, structuring data into bronze, silver, and gold layers to ensure clarity, consistency, and readiness for use. By building and optimizing data pipelines, the Cloud Data Engineer will ensure raw data is transformed into high-quality datasets that drive strategic decision-making across the organization.

Your daily responsibilities:
📌 Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines – Ensure a seamless and efficient migration from on-premise SQL Server to Snowflake on AWS, enabling secure, scalable, and reliable data storage for advanced analytics and reporting.
📌 Integrate data from multiple sources – Manage and optimize data integration processes within Snowflake, ensuring high-quality, consistent, and accessible data that enables accurate, timely business insights.
📌 Optimize Snowflake performance – Improve query speeds, data load times, and storage efficiency to maintain a fast, responsive, and scalable data platform.
📌 Enforce data security and compliance – Apply best practices in data encryption, access control, and regulatory compliance, ensuring data remains protected and aligned with industry standards.
📌 Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders – Gather and understand data requirements, ensuring Snowflake infrastructure aligns with business needs.
📌 Evaluate and recommend new tools & technologies – Keep our data platform at the cutting edge by identifying and implementing the latest cloud technologies.
📌 Lead migration efforts to the cloud – Work closely with the Global Data Engineering Lead, manage timelines, and address migration challenges to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption.
📌 Document and maintain data infrastructure – Ensure knowledge sharing, consistency, and long-term operational stability within Snowflake.

🚀 Cloud Data Expert – Hands-on experience with Snowflake, SQL, AWS, ETL, and data pipeline design.
🔄 Data Migration Specialist – Proven success in migrating SQL Server to the cloud, ensuring data integrity and performance.
📊 Medallion Architecture Master – Skilled in bronze, silver, and gold layers, ensuring data reliability, scalability, and accessibility.
⚡ Data Optimization Enthusiast – Experience in query optimization, data modeling, and system performance tuning.
🔐 Data Security Guardian – Knowledge of encryption, access control, and regulatory compliance for cloud-based systems.
💡 Strong Communicator & Collaborator – Ability to translate technical concepts into business insights, working effectively with architects, analysts, and leadership.
🛠 Problem-Solver & Innovator – Anticipates challenges, removes obstacles, and creates scalable long-term solutions.
🎓 Bonus Points for: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Certifications in Snowflake, AWS, or other cloud platforms and experience working in multi-market or global environments will be highly valued.
